EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHILDREN OF LINCOLN ELKS LODGE #80 MEMBERS
Elks Lodge # 80 is happy to provide you with this scholarship opportunity. These scholarships were made available in large part due to the generosity of Paulding and Esther Smith, and are open to students whose sponsoring relative is an active member or deceased member of the Lincoln (NE) Elks Lodge #80. They are intended to provide financial assistance to eligible applicants who exhibit the core values of the Elks: Knowledge, Charity, Service to Community, and Integrity. Judging criteria will include the applicant’s civic activity, leadership, leadership development, and academic success. Additionally, the applicant’s honors and awards and will be considered.
There will be a total of six awards, and each is a one-time award:
The following eligibility requirements apply to this scholarship:
1. Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild) of a living member of the Lincoln Elks Lodge who has been active the past five (5) years, or a deceased lodge member who had been an active member of Lincoln Elks Lodge #80 for at least ten (10) consecutive years prior to his or her death.
2. The applicant must be a high school graduate, or a high school senior who will graduate within 5 months from the date of this application.
3. Applicants must be under the age of 25 by the date of this application.
4. Applicant must apply through the Lincoln Elks Lodge, regardless of where the applicant resides.
5. Students may apply for more than one scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student qualifies for more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value.
6. These awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities.
We require a Social Security number for our records. Make a photocopy of your application for your records. All applications become the property of Lincoln Elks Lodge #80.
The winners will be announced no later than May 1.
