On Monday May 5th our Annual Youth Recognition and Scholarship night was held at Southeast Community College. We had approximately 400 students, parents, and family-members in attendance. Thirty-one scholarships were awarded, totaling $36,000 in financial aid. The scholarship winners were introduced and recognized, and each was awarded a certificate of recognition and had their picture taken with one of our Elk members. We also awarded 196 certificates of achievement in 16 Academic and Extra Curricular categories to high school juniors. The Paulding and Esther Smith Memorial Youth Fund and the Lincoln Elks #80 Charitable Fund underwrite the cost of all of the scholarships awarded. P.E.R. Sonny Lane acted as emcee and provided those attending a good overview of our other Lodge activities. The Youth Activities committee and P.E.R. Dave Kirby and Loyal Knight Mary Brooks did a nice job in getting everything lined up for a smooth presentation. E.R. Larry Bratt welcomed the audience and P.E.R. Larry Schwindt gave the invocation. A special thank you to all Elks that attended and to those that assisted in the judging of scholarships. Select one of the links below to see the award recipients:
