Grand Exalted Ruler's Message...

A Message from the Grand Exalted Ruler
Hon. Michael F. Smith

We're off and running ...

Hopefully by this date, your Lodge is progressing with its goals for the year. Our Elks National Foundation goal of $4.50 per capita should be behind you unless your membership is working hard to set a record. Please remember October is Elks National Foundation Month. Your contributions fuel our Order and its programs. Once your Lodge attains the per capita goal, remember to apply for the $1,000.00 Gratitude Grant.

Having passed a third of the way through the Lodge year, we should have our Lapsation Committees fully revved up. NOW is the time to personally contact those valuable Members who have not yet paid their dues. Our Members need a purpose, and I would like to ask all Officers to help our Members identify an interest and help them become involved. Our Order has a large variety of ways to touch peoples’ lives positively. Support your State’s Major Project. Your heart will swell with pride.

Promote Elks Passion and others will follow. Make it fun and fulfilling while spreading our good works!

According to an Edmunds Consulting survey, 71 percent of the respondents in a public poll were not familiar with our Order and the charitable works we provide. We must stop keeping our works a secret.

As the District Deputies make their Lodge visits, make their jobs easier by making your Lodge better. Have your manuals available, records current and your facility at its best. Put a smile on your Officers’ and Members’ faces. Feel good about being part of this phenomenal charitable organization. Each of us has the opportunity to share some kindness and do some good. Share the works of our Order and let everyone know what we promote.

As Sandra and I travel, we see so much goodness among our Members. We must share what we represent. Feeling good and doing good are contagious. BE PROUD...BE LOUD...BE VISIBLE!

With the many challenges facing us in these difficult times, it is imperative we communicate "Elks Care | Elks Share."
